The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, has appealed to Nigerians and the organisers of the national protest to embrace dialogue and address issues through effective, result-oriented strategies.

The Minister, who joined President Bola Tinubu and other well-meaning Nigerians in this appeal yesterday, at a press briefing at the Ministry’s head office in Abuja, called on Nigerians to have confidence in the present administration, promising that the economic and other challenges confronting the country will be addressed.

While lamenting that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration had inherited myriads of economic challenges since its inception in 2023, the minister also said his principal is gradually addressing these challenges by implementing policies that will, in the future, bring long-term relief to all Nigerians.

He explained that Nigeria’s present economic challenges are not unique to the country. He hoped that with the collective support of all Nigerians, the country would soon overcome its challenges and take its rightful place among the comity of nations.

“Let me use this opportunity to appeal to our people, most especially the youths, to give peace a chance because no society progresses in an atmosphere of crisis and protests, and that is why Nigerians must imbibe the virtues of patience and dialogue in resolving issues that have to do with the overall development of our great country, Nigeria,” the Minister emphasised.

“We don’t need any form of protest now in Nigeria because President Bola Tinubu is doing everything possible to reposition the country with his various laudable policies and programmes aimed at ensuring national economic development, food sufficiency, security among others hence the need for all stakeholders to support his administration towards actualising the renewed hope agenda for Nigerians,” stressed.
