A coalition of Niger Delta ex-agitators has urged Nigerians to halt the planned nationwide protest, tagged “EndBadGovernment,” scheduled to commence on August 1, 2024.

In a statement by Comr. Momos Wilberforce the coalition, which comprises former militants and agitators from the Niger Delta region, appealed to Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peace.

“We understand the frustrations and grievances of Nigerians, but we must find peaceful ways to resolve our differences. We urge Nigerians to give President Tinubu a chance to rule and implement his policies, which we believe have the potential to transform the country and improve the lives of all Nigerians,” he said.

The coalition also expressed gratitude to Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator Otuaro for his statesmanship and leadership on national issues.

“We thank Otuaro for his wisdom and guidance, which have been invaluable in these challenging times. His commitment to peace, unity, and development is exemplary, and we urge all Nigerians to follow his example,” he said.

The coalition commended President Tinubu for his commitment to good governance and his efforts to address the country’s economic, social, and political challenges.

“We believe that President Tinubu has the vision and leadership skills to transform Nigeria and make it a better place for all.

“We urge Nigerians to support him and give him a chance to implement his policies,” it said.

“Violence and destruction will only lead to more suffering and instability, and will undermine our efforts to build a better Nigeria,” the statement continued.

It also urged protesters to find peaceful ways to express their grievances and to work with the government to find solutions to the nation’s challenges.

The coalition assured Nigerians that it will continue to work tirelessly to promote peace, unity, and development in the country, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
