Chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Osun State Chapter, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, has advised Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to urgently declare curfew in the state as a result of the looting and riots that arising from the raging #Endbadgovernance protest.

Odeyemi, who is the chairman of Forum of NNPP chairmen in Nigeria, noted that it’s obvious some disgruntled politicians have hijacked the protest embarked upon by some youths in the state.

According to him, ‘‘It is on record that Governor Kabir Yusuf met with security officers and stakeholders, especially, the protesters in the state before the protest this morning where they all pledged to ensure peaceful protest in the state.

‘‘Surprisingly, crisis broke out in less than 2 hours when the protest started. This is surely a planned work to sabotage the efforts of Mr Governor in ensuring peace and order in Kano state.

‘‘I believe the best thing to be done now is to declare curfew in order to prevent further break down of law and order and unwarranted attacks on public property.”

The party chairman also charged security agents to be alive to their responsibility by providing security for lives and properties in the town.

Odeyemi however appealed to residents to remain calm and conduct themselves peacefully during the duration of the protest.
