Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has appealed to organisers of the #endbadgovernance protest in the state to suspend it, saying they should not allow miscreants to use them to destroy the state.
He made the plea when he addressed people of the state on the state of the nation in Birnin Kebbi at the weekend.

According to the governor, although it is the right of citizens to peacefully protest, they should watch the extant one would be used to cause breach of peace.
He said available credible information had revealed devilish plans by some unpatriotic and unscrupulous elements to import mercenaries from outside the state to cause mayhem in Kebbi State.

He noted that some people who don’t have the interest of the state at heart were planning to import hired thugs from outside Kebbi into the state, especially Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Jega and Yauri to cause mayhem.
According him, no responsible government would allow those who don’t have public interest at heart to vandalise public utilities and private properties of the law-abiding citizens.

The governor lamented that available information had revealed a plan by some persons to attack the state water board and vandalise it under the guise of protest and therefore called on the protesters to see reason and shelve it in the interest of peace and security of the state.
