Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) Niger State chapter, who is also the vicar of the Anglican Holy Trinity Church Chanchaga, Minna, Venerable Daniel Tsado, said the Council is one of the well organised missionaries in the country.
Speaking shortly after his inauguration, the new chairman of CCN Niger State chapter at the conference hall of St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral Church in Minna yesterday, pointed out that CCN was founded in 1929, and was optimistic that the elected officials are people of sound theological training and integrity with broad exposure.
“We are all called to serve therefore let’s utilize this opportunity to serve God with all our hearts, serve him diligently devoid of personal gains because we shall give account of all our deeds to God”.
He however appreciated all the delegates from far and near particularly the North Central Executive, Rev Sunday Garba for coming to conduct the election.
Performing the electoral procedures, the chairman of the committee, Venerable John Akpata, disclosed that after due consultations with all the affected denominations, it was resolved that the Anglican Diocese should produce a candidate, and Venerable Daniel Tsado from Chanchaga Holy Trinity was nominated.
The national chairman of CCN Ini Uphuho, represented by the CCN secretary, North Central, Rev Sunday Garba, appreciated the maturity of the members of various denominations to have consensus candidates from all the denominations.
All seven officials were elected unopposed to run the affairs of the Niger State Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) for the next three years.
Those elected are, Venerable Daniel Tsado, as CCN state chairman, Anglican, Rev Peter Babatope vice chairman, First African Church, the post of secretary went to Very Rev Daniel Ude, from The Presbyterian Church, while Rev. Dr Gideon Yakubu from the Baptist Church, is to serve as assistant secretary, the financial secretary is Prophet Solomon Sholanke, The Church of the Lord, while Very Rev.Goodseed Ekeleme and Pastor Nehemiah Abah are to serve as treasurer and public relations officer (PRO) respectively.
