The minister announced a coordinated dry season farming initiative, with the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the African Development Bank collaborating to ensure the timely delivery of fertilisers and other critical inputs to farmers.

The minister made the announcement at the first meeting of the Accelerated Stabilisation and Advancement Plan (ASAP) implementation committee, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s renewed commitment to addressing critical economic challenges and fostering sustainable development across key sectors, according to a post on the X account of the finance ministry late Friday.

The ASAP initiative is a key component of President Tinubu’s ambitious reform agenda, targeting eight priority sectors, including Agriculture, Energy, and Health.

In his opening remarks, the minister highlighted the collaborative nature of the project, informing the committee that they would work closely with technical experts from various government agencies to establish clear milestones and ensure the effective execution of the Plan.
