The players’ prompt arrival demonstrates a solid commitment to the team’s success and a willingness to put in the necessary hard work to achieve their goals after a disappointing start to 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, where they are yet to register a victory in four games.

Austin Eguavoen, head of the NFF’s technical committee, has taken the reins as interim coach for these two matches, with Fidelis Ilechukwu of Enugu Rangers and Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars assisting him for the job. .

The NFF has invited 23 players for the twin qualifiers, with the rest of the squad expected to arrive as soon as possible.
