SDP Activate Structures, Pushes For Mass Mobilisation For 2027

The Social Democratic Party, (SDP), has activated all available party structures nationwide and launched a mass mobilization drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the party’s National Convention in Abuja, the National Chairman Professor Sadiq Gombe said the gathering was proof of the party’s resilience despite past challenges.

“We have faced obstacles at almost every turn and we remain focused. Today we demonstrate that the Social Democratic Party remains organized, strong and united,”he said

Gombe disclosed that the SDP will contest all elective positions in 2027, including the presidency, 109 senate seats, 360 House of Representatives seats, 28 governorships and 1,015 state assembly seats.

He stressed that no individual is bigger than the party.

He said the party has begun training its officials across the six geopolitical zones to strengthen structures from polling units to the national level.

“We must engage Nigerians with humility, integrity and sincerity of purpose. We must mobilize our youth and women,” he added

The chairman said the SDP offers Nigerians an alternative anchored on security, productive employment, social justice and accountable governance.

He referenced the recent unveiling of the party’s policy document by presidential candidate Prince Adewole Adebayo, and running mate Dr. Usman Bugaje, as proof of its readiness.

Gombe urged members to uphold internal democracy and avoid personal interests.

“When differences arise, let us resolve them through dialogue and constitutional processes. Political power is a sacred responsibility to transform society,” he stated.

He calls for a majority in the legislature to back an SDP government.

“We cannot go to government houses without matching it with majority in the assemblies to translate our blueprint into results for Nigerians,” Gombe said
