The newly appointed executive director (ED ) of National Cereal Research Institute (NCRI) Baddegi, Niger State, Dr Mohamed Ndagi Ishaq, has promised to bring back the lost glory of the institute.

He stated in an interview that the institute will be repositioned for effective service delivery and ensure food sufficiency in the country.

While attributing the backwardness in the institute to a lack of adequate funding over the years , he said as a long-serving senior staff of the institute before his appointment, he was acquainted with most of the challenges inhibiting the institute from ensuring food security.
He said “I am aware of some constraints that have become a cog in the wheel of over all development of the institute and will not hesitate to put up machineries for the smooth operation of my tenure.”
“ My concern is to bring back the lost glory of Badegi Research Institute, which can be realised through the collaborative efforts of all and sundry to overcome the bottlenecks that have constituted a challenge to the progress of the institute,” he added.

Consequently, Dr Ndagi said it would not be business as usual, starting from him, the executive director, declaring his readiness to accept criticism and streamline operations for maximum results.
