3 Die In Kano Building Collapse

At least three people have been confirmed dead following a two-storey building collapse in Normans area of Fagge local government area of Kano State.

Spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif, who confirmed the incident, said two persons have been rescued alive and are treated at a hospital while rescue operations are still ongoing.

He said the building collapsed around 2.00a.m on Thursday after a heavy downpour.

However, it was gathered that the building collapsed due to the overflow of the waterway on which it is situated.

Meanwhile the Kano State Emergency Management Agency had on Wednesday stated that 31 persons were killed by flood and 5,280 houses destroyed.
