Sixty-eight children with congenital clubfoot have been enrolled for treatment at 16 clubfoot clinics in the 10 states covered by the Straight Child Foundation.

Project supervisor of the foundation, Bright Amadi stated this while updating the press on the performance of the foundation in August this year in Umuahia, Abia State capital.

He explained that about 69 percent of the children were below the age of 12 while 90 percent received tenotomy in line with global standards.

“To enhance clubfoot surveillance, early detection and referral of cases for treatment, we organized a one-day session on early detection and referral training for health workers at the primary healthcare level in Anambra State

“We had another session in Abia State for  mothers, traditional birth attendants, healthcare providers, and community opinion holders on clubfoot deformity and how to access care for identified cases,” he noted
