The Season Three finale saw a huge crowd of around 7,000 fans despite the socioeconomic hardship confronting Nigerians.

Fans, including top Nigerian celebrities, ex-footballers, influencers, media practitioners and enthusiasts gathered to witness Nigeria’s local boxing turned into a global spectacle as fighters, including two Europeans, Mateusz from Poland and Denis Chernysh from Russia, ensured the spectators and investors alike left the Velodrome fulfilled for their money and time.

The main event in the Lightweights division did not disappoint, with Kaddara and Dage fighting bravely to earn their place among the professional warriors in Season 04 of Dambe Warriors League.

Also in the Lightweight championship, in what was arguably one of the most exciting fights of the evening, Yar Mage and Nasarawa battled furiously and patriotically before the former was crowned the winner, and rightfully retained the title for the second season in a row.

In the middleweights division, Biyar and Kansila earned their promotion into Season 04 over the duo of Kawoji and Ebola respectively. While in the division’s championship bout, Shabban outsmarted Dogon Messi to the delight of cheerful fans.

One of the two Europeans, Denis Chemysh, who was aiming to penetrate the country’s local boxing (Dambe) lost in a nailbiter to Nigerian Mota, while his Polish counterpart – White Memba (Matateusz) beat Nigeria’s Dan Yellow in an exhibition fight that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

The Heavyweight division’s final fights were the highlight of the evening, with Yansanda proved too strong and tough for Ali Kanin Bello to take the heavyweight championship crown.

“Today is the second time we are making such a milestone in organising super fights like this, creating such an amazing moment of huge global audiences for our local fight (Dembe). Seven thousand people filled up in this Velodrome today just to witness a local sport that we are taking global. It is not just a local sport anymore because we have rebranded the sport for global attraction, and today, we have over a hundred million people watching us (the fight) across the globe via Supersport, Instagram and other social media channels. Never before has this happened in Nigeria and Africa, this is the first time that a local sport is getting an international level of media mileage,” Okeleke said.

The SuperFight 03 finale at Abuja’s Velodrom showcased significant improvements in production and fans experience by both the live audience and viewers at home.
