After relocating to Konduga, Mr Osemwota passed on leaving behind his family. His son, Kennedy Osemwota attended Ugiomo Secondary School in Edo state before relocating to Konduga. After the death of his father, he was left with his mother and sister whom still settled at Konduga for a while. His mother was a farmer and a petty trader and Kennedy had a barbing saloon in the same Konduga village.

On a fateful day, Islamist terrorists group suspected to be Boko Haram attacked Konduga village, largely dominated by Christians and killed over 62 people including Kennedy’s mother, Mrs Esther Osemwota and sister, Sarah he left at home. Since then, Kennedy’s where-about has been unknown, sparking suspicion that he must have also been killed in the attack.

After the attack, the government conducted mass burial for the deceased as the victims could not be identified by their families.

Narrating the incident, one Ishaku Duniya a native of Konduga who witnessed the incident in the area said, “I’m bringing the awareness because the family is from Edo State who came to settle in Konduga but unfortunately, terrorists wreaked havoc on the family.
