All have set to host the maiden edition of Ekiti Day in Abuja 2024, an event organised to celebrate the rich culture, diversity, and tourism potential of Ekiti State.
The event, facilitated by the Ekiti State Diaspora Relations office, will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Tobix Recreational Park, Abuja, starting at 3 p.m.
The gathering is expected to bring together indigenes of Ekiti State residing in Abuja to promote unity, highlight the state’s cultural heritage, and showcase its tourism offerings to a wider audience.
Attendees will enjoy a vibrant music display, cultural performances, exhibitions, and a panellist session discussing key issues relevant to Ekiti State’s development.
One of the event’s highlights will be the Ekiti Heritage Award 2024, which aims to honour outstanding sons and daughters of the state for their contributions to various fields.
The celebration is being organised by Aso Multimedia, a renowned event management company, in collaboration with the director general of Ekiti State Diaspora Relations, Mrs Ademola Adeleye Fasubaa.
According to Mrs Fasubaa, the event seeks to foster unity among Ekiti indigenes in Abuja and serve as a platform for promoting the state’s development goals.
“We aim to promote unity among our people and showcase Ekiti State’s potential for development, culture, and tourism,” she stated.
The executive governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, will serve as the special guest of honour.
During the event, he is expected to address participants on his administration’s efforts to transform Ekiti State, focusing on infrastructural and educational advancements.
Governor Oyebanji will also share insights on the state’s development trajectory and its ambition to become a model of excellence among Nigeria’s states.
The event promises to be a memorable occasion, celebrating the heritage and unity of Ekiti State in the heart of the nation’s capital.
