3 Dismissed Policemen Arraigned, Remanded For Killing Kwara Poly Student

The three police officers recently dismissed over the murder of a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Qoyum Ishola, have been charged to court on Wednesday.

The dismissed police officers are Abiodun Kayode, James Emmanuel and Oni Philip.

 

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Toun Ejire- Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

The statement read; “The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform the public that the three dismissed officers, Mr Abiodun Kayode, Mr James Emmanuel, and Mr Oni Philip, have been charged to court on 16th October, 2024.

 

“They face charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in connection with the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola. They have been remanded in prison custody pending further court proceedings.”

LEADERSHIP reports that the Kwara State Police Command had on Monday dismissed the three officers for their alleged roles in the death of a Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, on September 4, 2024.

The Command, in the statement on Monday night, said the indicted officers – Inspector Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Samuel and Sergeant Oni Philip – were found guilty of leaving their beat, corrupt practices, and unlawful or unnecessary exercise of authority in the matter.
