In a bid to upscale the knowledge of staff of the Ministry of Sports Development, the National Institute for Sports (NIS) recently organized a three day training workshop for the staff.

Speaking at the workshop held in Keffi, Nasarawa State, director-general of NIS, Professor Olawale Moronkola, said the workshop underscored the importance attached to human capital development by the ministry.

“We have a responsibility to keep upgrading our knowledge Vin a fast changing world. We must keep learning in order to remain relevant and productive in a dynamic changing world. The NIS has a strategic, important role to change the fortunes of sports in our country.”

The permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Tinuke Watti, who was represented by deputy director training, Dr. Kalu while declaring the event opened said the seminar came at a time when Nigerian Sports was under close scrutiny.
