Stakeholders have advocated economic growth and competitiveness towards building African trade and business for women across the continent.

Speaking earlier, the lead consultant / CEO of Anthrop Management Ltd. Dorcas James, highlighted that the event provided a platform for discussions, collaboration, and the implementation of trade facilitation initiatives aimed at enhancing economic growth and competitiveness.

The project, anchored by the International Trade Centre (ITC) Geneva in collaboration with ECOWAS, was part of the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade (EAT) Programme and followed extensive consultations with stakeholders, desk research, and field visits. It brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including Customs, Immigration, Chambers of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, Shippers Council, Women groups, and other key players.

She underscored that as one of the representatives of the voice of millions of women in Nigeria, she is glad to have had the opportunity to contribute to this significant event. She noted that the experience has broadened her perspective on the importance of trade facilitation in promoting economic development and regional integration.

“I’m eager to continue exploring ways to support and empower women in trade and commerce, and I believe that this event has paved the way for future collaborations and initiatives that will drive growth and prosperity in our region.”
