The Purple Dove Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, made a significant donation of gifts and cash worth N3.5 million to over 100 indigent patients at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada, to help ease the financial hardships.

Chairman/CEO of the foundation, Princess Amara Ifechuckwu, said the donation was part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community and bring smiles to the faces of the less privileged.

The foundation’s team leader, Segun David highlighted that the donation aimed to provide relief to the patients by easing their financial burdens and uplifting their spirits.

Among the beneficiaries were an orphan who received N13,000, Ogechi Eze with N20,000, and Hajiya Mariam with N10,000. Other patients also received cash gifts of N15,000 each.

The foundation donated a variety of essential items, including bathing soaps, toiletries, disinfectants, and detergents.

In addition to the donations, the foundation organised three lively games for the patients, adding a fun element to the visit. Miss Murdiya Abdulwahab, a primary four pupil, won the first game and received N15,000 in cash along with a gift. The second and third place winners went home with N10,000 each.

In another game, Success Edet came first, winning a Holy Bible and N10,000 in cash. Miss Murdiya placed second, receiving N10,000 and a gift, while a boy came third and also received a gift.

The chief medical director of UATH, Prof. Bissallah Ahmed Ekele, represented by the Public Relations Officer, Sani Suleiman, commended the foundation’s generosity.

He called on other Nigerians to follow suit and extend similar acts of kindness to those in need.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to the Purple Dove Foundation for their thoughtfulness and commitment to caring for humanity,” Suleiman said.
