The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has ordered three senior officials from the Kaduna State Government, Hon Samuel Aruwan Peter, Hon Shizzer Nasara Bada and Tijjani Mohammed Abdullahi, to step aside over alleged false assets declaration.

The Hon. Samuel Aruwan Peter is the acting Commissioner for Internal Security; the Hon. Shizzer Nasara Bada is the Commissioner for Finance, and Tijjani Mohammed Abdullahi is the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The Tribunal’s decision, announced on October 22, 2024, follows an ex parte application by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) citing violations of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act (CAP C1 LFN 2004).

According to a statement issued by CCT spokesperson Veronica Kato, the officials should be suspended pending the hearing and determination of a motion filed by the Bureau at the tribunal on October 21, 2024.

The CCB said it launched investigations into the officials after receiving a petition accusing them of various infractions.

“Upon conclusion of the inquiry, the Bureau sought their prosecution before the Tribunal,” Veronica said.
