The 21st Abuja International Film Festival is set to mark a milestone in the world of cinema from October 28 to November 1, 2024. This year, the festival received an overwhelming 1,254 film submissions from 65 countries across 18 genres, reflecting a global tapestry of storytelling and creativity. From this impressive selection, 65 nominees have been chosen to showcase the best in contemporary filmmaking.

Under the visionary guidance of Festival Director Temitope Duker, the festival’s theme “BRIDGING CULTURES THROUGH CINEMAS” embodies a commitment to showcasing diverse narratives that transcend geographic boundaries and celebrate the rich tapestry of global cinema. Duker assures attendees of an engaging and enlightening festival experience that will inspire and connect audiences from all walks of life.

In addition to the exceptional film screenings, the festival will host thought-provoking panel discussions on vital industry topics such as distribution, investment, and film financing. Industry experts and visionaries will share their experiences and insights, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge about the business side of filmmaking.

Moreover, attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in masterclasses hosted by two renowned filmmakers: Award-winning Filmmakers Dimbo Atiya and Paul Papel. Atiya will delve into the intricacies of cinematography, while Papel will guide aspiring filmmakers through the art of producers pitching. These masterclasses are designed to equip emerging talents with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the competitive world of cinema.

The 21st Abuja International Film Festival promises an immersive and enriching experience for filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts alike. Join us for five days of cinematic celebration, education, and cultural exchange.
