Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Cross River State, Emmanuel Olayi, has advised youths not to participate in acts that would disrupt the November 2, local government council elections in the state.

Olayi said the leadership of the youth council is determined to ensure the success of the polls in the state.

His counsel followed rumour of a plot to disrupt the  council elections.

Olayi urged youths in the state to take advantage of the process and help build a future that will be beneficial to all and not only a segment of the society.

He said, “The NYCN, however, sounds a strong warning to anyone who might intend to disrupt the peace and order during the election period.

“We urge such individuals to abandon any plans that might jeopardize the democratic process.

“The NYCN stands firm in its commitment to see that the LGA election is peaceful, transparent and credible.

“To all the youths in Cross River State, we call on you to participate actively and responsibly in the upcoming elections.

“Your involvement is crucial to ensure that our voices are heard and that our aspirations are reflected in the outcomes.

“Let us all play our part in building a future that benefits everyone, fostering an environment of inclusivity and mutual respect”, he said.
