The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has turbaned Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu as the new Tasha of Etsu-Tasha of Edati local government area of Niger state.
The occasion made Alhaji Etsu the 27th ruler of the community in order of ascension.
The event at the Wadata Palace in Bida, Niger State, was attended by eminent members of the Etsu Nupe‘s cabinet and community leaders.
The Etsu Nupe admonished him to work for the people and ensure the peaceful coexistence of all the people in his domain.
He also urged the new traditional leader of Etsu Tasha to be fair and just to all and to preserve the sanctity of conventional institutions.
Describing his ascension to leadership as the will of Allah, Alhaj Etsu expressed gratitude to the almighty for making the event a success.
He also lauded the effort and support of the entire Etsu-Tasha community and commended them for ensuring the event‘s success.
As the 27th Tasha, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu brings a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in civil and community service, he was a project manager at the Niger State Ministry of Health, where he served until he retired from service in 2002 and also chaired the Niger State task force on water and environmental sanitation during the administration late Governor Musa Inuwa in the short-lived third republic.
Tasha Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Etsu graduated from the University of Ilorin with a bachelor‘s degree. He attended the School of Hygiene in Kano before that. The new traditional ruler is an alumnus of the famous Bida Teachers College (BTC).
