Indonesian government has donated 1,000 cattle semen to Kebbi State government to boost livestock production.

The commissioner for Animal, Health, Husbandry and Fisheries, Kabiru Usman, disclosed this during a news conference held at the Government House Press Centre in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the development was an outcome of Governor Nasir Idris’ recent visit to Indonesia aimed at advancing agriculture and livestock programmes in Kebbi State.

Usman added that the development was also in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in support of the newly established Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.

He also revealed that the state has got two out of four allocated training slots for Nigerian veterinary doctors in artificial insemination and the beneficiaries will go for one month specialised training in Indonesia.

The commissioner commended Governor Idris for reviving the abandoned veterinary hospital in Birnin Kebbi which is placed as the second highest in the country.
