The Bauchi State PDP chairman, Samaila Burga, in a letter addressed to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly said Umar was reported to the party leaders for insubordination and was found guilty in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Burga said the lawmaker was issued with a query from the party on 5th of November over an act of “insubordination as reported against him for violating Sections 58 (9) (1) and (f) of the Constitution of the Party 2017 (as amended). The said report was submitted to the Party from his Ward of Beni which was duly signed by the entire Exco.”

He added that a disciplinary committee was constituted by the party on November 11, after critical investigation and evaluation of the facts, the lawmaker was guilty of the offence and recommended his suspension with immediate effect in compliance with Section 59 (4) and (5) of the Party’s Constitution indefinitely.

“In view of the above, with effect from today, the 25th day of November, 2024, henceforth he is prohibited from participating in any Party activity pending any further development from the Party,” the chairman said.
