FINCA Microfinance Bank said it has in 10 years of operation in Imo State, empowered economically active low-income individuals by providing access to innovative and responsible financial services.

According to the organisation, since inception in December 2014, FINCA Microfinance Bank Limited (FINCA MFB), a fully Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensed microfinance bank and a  subsidiary of FINCA Impact  Finance (FIF), has committed itself to the  singular vision of empowering  Nigerians to control their financial future and overcome poverty.

This was made known by the Chief  Executive Officer, (CEO) of FINCA Microfinance Bank,  Kingsley Ukoh while addressing newsmen in Owerri, Imo State .

The CEO stressed that these services  are rooted in the global legacy of  FIF, a pioneer in microfinance and financial inclusion for 40 years.

He said, “In ten years, we have redefined what microfinance means to low-income families and individuals across Imo State, Nigeria. By connecting people with accessible, responsible financial products, including individual loans, small enterprise loans, education loans, and a suite of digital tools, FINCA MFB has impacted over 40,000 customers in Imo State.

“These numbers revealed the profound reach of our commitment, nearly 28% of our clients come from economically vulnerable backgrounds, 49% live in rural communities, and 37% are women seeking to secure a brighter future for themselves and their families.

“Our footprint spans Imo State, strengthened by our network of 13 locations alongside an extensive  agency-banking network, ensuring we reach those who need us most.

“However, our mission goes beyond access—we deliver knowledge. Last year alone, FINCA Nigeria equipped over 833 individuals with crucial skills in planning, budgeting, credit management, and digital security, ensuring they not only access financial services but also thrive within a digital economy.”

Ukoh highlighted that in response to Nigeria’s evolving needs, they  have  rolled out education loans for school improvement, school fees, along with their Mobile App, USSD services, and debit cards, bringing a world of possibilities to  customers’ fingertips.
