Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will be out of action for a couple of weeks due to a hamstring injury, according to his Premier League club, Leicester City.

After taking four points from home games with West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion during his first week in charge, the former Manchester United striker will oversee his first away game in charge of the Foxes when they visit Newcastle United this weekend.

There is an air of the unknown over when Wilfred Ndidi could return to action after he picked up an injury in the last weekend draw with Brighton and Hove Albion. Speaking after the game, Van Nistelrooy said:

“Wilf, when he comes off, you know there’s a problem. I hope it’s minor. He felt a slight strain in the hamstring. Hopefully, it’s not too much. We’ll see how quickly we can get him back. So he’s not available for the Newcastle match,” he disclosed.

“We’ll see how he reacts, but it seems like it will at least be a couple of weeks.”
Ndidi, 27, has made 15 Premier League appearances this season after he renewed his contract with ‘The Foxes’ this summer.

A crucial home game with fellow strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers takes Leicester into Christmas week when they travel to current Premier League leaders Liverpool before rounding off their 2024 fixtures with a home clash against Manchester City.
