The secretary to the state government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, who disclosed this at the weekend in Uyo, the state capital, explained that the elevation of the six judges became necessary following their clearance by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

He listed the new appointees to include Umohandi Winifred, Ekanem James, Essien Iwakowo, Morrison Henry, Ntekim Ekpo and Eddie Julius.

According to Prince Uwah, the newly-elevated judicial officers would be sworn-in on Monday, December 16, at the Banquet Hall of Government House by the governor.

“Upon the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC), Governor Umo Eno has approved the appointment of six new High Court Judges in the State Judiciary,” Uwah stated, urging the appointees to honour their inauguration on Monday, December 16.
