The Nigerian Project (TNP) has appointed a former chairman of Abia State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Hyacinth Okoli, as its media adviser.
TNP, with branches in the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, is a body founded to promote patriotism, security and justice among others for all in the country.
This was contained in statement yesterday by the national convener of TNP, Reagan Ufomba, which was made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia.
The statement said, “The choice of Okoli is traceable to his outstanding quality professional contributions to the growth of journalism and the unity of the country.”
Before the appointment, Okoli had served as director of news and current affairs and later as acting director-general, Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, where he excelled as a core journalist.
Reacting to the appointment, Okoli expressed appreciation to TNP for finding him “capable of occupying the position,” assuring that he would serve diligently to the best of his ability.
“It feels like a soldier deployed to a sector in a familiar terrain during a military campaign. The mission is clear and achievable by the grace of God,” he noted.
