The University of Abuja however came a distant third with representation from Shalom Onomen Oifoh, Martha Ifedolapo Bankole and Manna Ezechukwu Nnamani.

He revealed that the quiz was sponsored by Bet9ja foundation, and focused on contemporary topics and aimed at encouraging ethical reasoning among undergraduate students and the general public.
Rev. Fr. Agbagwa highlighted that the goal of the National Undergraduate Ethics quiz is to assess and challenge the ability of undergraduate students to critically think and practically apply ethical principles to real-life situations, promoting a deeper understanding of ethical decision-making and its importance in personal and professional life.

“The overarching goal of CSAAE’s ethics contest is to raise ethical consciousness in Nigeria and Africa.

“CSAAE believes that as the contestants grapple with day-by-day ethical challenges, the viewing public will learn how to respond to these challenges ethically whenever and wherever they encounter them.

“Winners are usually awarded prizes at the CSAAE annual Awards Dinner , but this year, prizes will be awarded to winners at the grand finale of CSAAE’s 10th anniversary celebration in Owerri, the Imo state capital.”

More than 5,000 Nigerian youths have participated in these ethics contests since the past three years.
A total number of 50 schools registered for the 2024 edition, while only 16 schools made the final shortlist.

Executive director of the CSAAE, Rev. Fr Godswill Agbagwa, in a congratulatory message, tasked the students on respect for established ethics at all levels.

He advised them to holistically pursue ethical behaviour and to make judicious use of the cash prizes.

“We believe that if leaders, professionals, employees, business owners and consumers do the right thing, our society will be a better place where all can find support and encouragement to work hard, live in dignity and feel proud to belong.

“The youth are tomorrow’s leaders, we are therefore preparing them for the huge task of nation building through ethical principles.

“Here at the CSAAE, we equip young people with the skills, resources and ethical values necessary to build better societies because we believe that if young people are empowered with the right skills, appropriate resources and sound ethical values, they become catalysts of better societies,” he stated.
