The state commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Simon Madugu Yalams, while receiving the vaccine equipment from the State L-PRES Project Coordinator, Musa Adamu One, said that the vaccination is timely because of the importance of exercise to animal well-being.

He said that when animals are healthy, the whole society would also be healthy.

The commissioner, represented by the director of veterinary services, Dr Ibrahim Bello, commended the L-PRES Project for this very important intervention, which affects the well-being of both humans and animals.

Earlier, the state project coordinator, Musa Adamu, who handed over the vaccine equipment to the state government courtesy of the L-PRES Project, said the vaccine will cover the 20 local government areas of the state.

He called on all project stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity to ensure that their livestock are vaccinated.

The vaccination was launched at Gamawa, a local government area.

In his remarks at the occasion, the chairman of the local government area, Alh. Madaki Gololo commended the initiative of the L-PRES project by providing the vaccines to the State Government free of charge.

Alh Madaki Gololo also announced that the Local Government has contributed CBPP Vaccines and PPR Vaccines to support the initiative.

A statement issued by Mohammed Abdul, the project’s commutation officer, on Thursday revealed that the exercise is currently ongoing across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State and is being supervised by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, L-PRES staff, other stakeholders, and Local Government staff across the state.
