Bauchi Gov Signs N467bn 2025 Budget Into Law

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has signed the state’s 2025 budget of N467,855,248,317.12 into law.

LEADERSHIP reports that Governor Mohammed had in late November presented the 2025 budget Appropriation Bill to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.

Governor Mohammed said the signed budget takes effect from the 1st January 2025.

He commended members of the State Assembly for their commitment to the review of the proposal submitted leading to the final approval of the 2025 budget.

Governor Mohammed said the 2025 budget represents the bold mission of his administration to the development of Bauchi State.

He assured that other sources of revenue would be leveraged to optimise budget performance of the state.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Sulaiman explained that the House marked up the budget from over N465bn to N467bn to accommodate developmental needs of the state, after all the necessary legislative procedure and review of the budget.

Sulaiman stressed that the House through various committees meticulously reviewed the proposal to ensure that adequate resources were allocated to all sectors.

He added that the N2 billion increment in the budget reflects transparency and oversight function of the House.
