In the spirit of giving and love that characterises the Yuletide season, dynamic gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have distributed relief items to the economically disadvantaged residents of Rumudara community in Port Harcourt, the River State capital.

The ‘You Do This One’ and ‘Excess Love’ crooner and her partner shared bags of rice, bags of garri, cartons of tomato paste, tubers of yams, and other food items to the elderly, single mothers and economically disadvantaged households in the area.

The food items were accompanied by cash gifts and beautifully patterned fabrics to brighten the smiles on the faces of people and give them joyous Christmas and New Year celebrations amid the economic hardship in Nigeria.

The outreach was carried out on December 30, 2024, under the aegis of the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, the charity arm of the Grace and Truth Nation (GTN), a music label co-owned by the singer and her husband.

On the December 2024 outreach, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa said, “The central goal of Christ is love and He is the reason for the season. According to John 3:16, we know that giving is the DNA of love. John 3:16 says: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life.’
