Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central, and the Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Abduljalal Runka, have led a condolence visit to the Sakai security forces following the tragic loss of 23 security agents in a terrorist attack on January 7, 2025, in Kwantan Bauna, Baure town, Safana Local Government Area.

The attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in Safana and other parts of Katsina State, which have experienced repeated assaults by bandit groups targeting vulnerable communities.

According to a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Senator Yar’adua, accompanied by the Chairman of Safana Local Government and the candidate for Chairman of Batsari Local Government, visited the families and relatives of the fallen security personnel.

The delegation also paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Ruma, Hakimin Batsari, to express their grief and solidarity.

As a gesture of support, Senator Yar’adua presented N50,000 to the families of each officer who lost their life in the attack. This contribution underscores the senator’s commitment to standing with the people of Katsina State during times of hardship and tragedy.

“The loss of these brave security agents is a reminder of the sacrifices made daily to protect our communities. We must honour their memory by continuing to support the fight against insecurity and providing for their families,” he said.

The senator called for increased efforts to combat insecurity in Katsina State and reassured the community of his dedication to supporting policies and initiatives that address the region’s security challenges.
