The Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative (DRDI-DAG), a non-governmental organisation, has trained 20 school teachers in peace-building initiatives in Kano.

Speaking during a three-day training for the facilitators from selected schools across the state metropolis, the lead facilitator, Aliyu Adamu, said the program aims to train mentors to establish peace clubs in schools, focusing on the Junior Secondary School (JSS) level to promote a culture of tolerance, understanding, and unity among different ethnic groups.

He added that the program will also empower young individuals to become agents of change in their communities and create a more peaceful and prosperous state through education and community engagement.

In his remarks, DRDI-DAG Executive Director Dr. Mustapha Yahaya, represented by its Program manager Abdulbaki Muhammad, said the program would cascade peace knowledge to young children and encourage them to grow enthusiastic about contributing to peacebuilding and becoming peace ambassadors.
