Lagos State University (LASU) students can now access funds from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). Through its Directorate of Special Interventions, the university management announced that NELFUND has successfully disbursed student loans for students whose applications were successful.

In a statement released and signed by the Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, it said that based on this cheering news, the university management will be crediting the school fees accounts of such students directly,

“The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, expresses her sincere gratitude to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the disbursement of funds which will provide financial support to students who are pursuing their academic goals and require assistance to cover their educational expenses,” the management said.

NELFUND is a student loan fashioned by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. It came into being when the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act 2023 repealed it and established the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a body.
