Winners Emerge As Gombe Inter Schools Athletics Championship Ends Today

The ongoing Gombe State Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Championship featuring participants from across rhe state’s 11 local government areas has proven as a revaluation ground of future talents.

With the championship comes to an end this weekend, some schools are already celebrating their achievements, awards, and standout performances.

The competition has not only highlights individual athletic prowess but also fosters school spirit and camaraderie among students.

One of the standout performers was U-20 Boy’s 3000m champion, Lamech Danladi who represented Diocesan High School Bulari. Danladi set a personal best record (PB) enroute his victory, clocking 10:18:14s to clinch gold ahead of his closet rivals Hussain Ibrahim and Fahad Abdullahi of Government Day Secondary School Deba who finished second and third with 11: 12: 29s and 11:16:04s respectively.

Danladi also pulled away from the rest of the field to win the U-20 Boy’s 1500m gold in a personal best time of 4.41.15s to take gold, beating Amadu Adamu of GDSS Barunde and Ukasha Saidu of GDSS Deba to second and third spot respectively.
