Gudaji-Kazaure Tasks  Northern Youths On Patriotism, Unity

A former member of the House of Representatives Muhammad Gudaji-Kazaure has asked northern youths to be patriotic, united and more concerned about ending the poverty and insecurity that characterised socio-economic lives of the people.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP over the weekend in Bauchi, Gudaji-Kazaure said beyond mere political rhetorics, youths hold keys to the future of northern Nigeria. He said their contributions to repositioning the region remains sacrosanct to building a sustainable future for the north and Nigeria as a whole.

“The next general election is not about political parties. Northerners, especially youths should be more concerned and focused on securing the future of the region for generations.

“Our youths need to embark on massive sensitisation educating northern voters on why they must avoid selling their votes to the highest bidder on election day. Our votes are for credible candidates regardless of their party affiliations,” he emphasised.

He added, “We have votes. We voted the APC-led federal government into power in 2023. So, either the government made changes and adjustments to meet the yearnings of our people, or we used the same votes to bring on board another party that would work for the interests of the people of northern Nigeria.”

Gudaji-Kazaure noted with great concern that the northern region is regressing instead of progressing, saying this posed threats to future generations.

“The reforms I recommended during my time in the House of Representatives have not yet been implemented.

“I had a conversation with President Bola Tinubu on how to strengthen anti-corruption and recover stolen public funds. I have not heard from him yet despite trying to see him thrice without success,” he said.
