APC USA Mourns the Passing of Professor Francis Onukwuli

The All Progressives Congress (APC) USA Chapter is grieving the loss of one of its founding members, Professor Francis Osita Onukwuli, Sr., who passed away on November 27, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on August 5, 1955, Professor Onukwuli was a distinguished educator and leader who played a pivotal role in the APC USA Chapter as the National Publicity Secretary.

Throughout his career, Professor Onukwuli demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the community. He served as the first Secretary General and later the second President of the Igbo Union, Atlanta, USA, and was the first President of Idemili United of Atlanta, Georgia. He was also a founding member of the Action Congress of Nigeria USA Chapter (ACN-USA).

Some of the former executives of APC-USA who worked alongside Professor Onukwuli include Professor Adesegun Labinjo, Chief Emeka Molokwu, Dr. Ismaila Maigyara, Honorable Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, Dr. Elizabeth Olagunju, Honorable Kunle Masha, Judge Dele Alade among many others.

The APC USA family is deeply saddened by Professor Onukwuli’s passing and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. His commitment to the party’s vision and values will be deeply missed. The entire Igbo community in Georgia and America has lost a rare gem, and the APC USA Chapter requests thoughts and prayers during this sorrowful time.

A requiem service will be held in Jonesboro, Georgia, on February 7, 2025 to honor Professor Onukwuli’s life and legacy. He will be laid to rest in his motherland, Nigeria, in accordance with his family’s wishes.
