Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has urged Chelsea to replace Nicolas Jackson and Robert Sanchez.

Mikel Obi was reacting to the Blues’ 3-1 defeat at Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

According to him, both Sanchez and Jackson are “not good enough”.

Chelsea went in front in the 3rd minute against City, thanks to Noni Madueke’s goal.

But Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland hit the target, either side of half-time to put the champions in the driving seat.

Phil Foden then raced through and beat Sanchez with a composed finish to seal the win.

The result leaves Enzo Maresca’s men in sixth place and they now trail league leaders Liverpool by 13 points.

However, it could have been a different outcome at the Etihad, if Jackson was not wasteful in front of goal.

Sanchez was caught in no man’s land for Haaland’s goal which made it 2-1.

“Again, we went 1-0 up and we had that chance to go 2-0 up with Nicolas Jackson,” Mikel Obi said, speaking on The Obi One podcast.

“Some people are saying that the pass from Cole Palmer is a little bit… no, it’s not. You’re a striker, just put your foot through it.

“If you miss it, it’s fine. But attempt to score. What did he do? Just controlled the ball and then came back.

“Your job is to f***ing score the goals, that’s why you were brought to the football club. Put the ball in the back of the net and try to score. He didn’t do that.”
