Abia State board member of Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr Dimgba Eruba, has said about 10,000 members of other political parties in the Ukwa West local government area of the state have joined All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eruba stated this yesterday when he led representatives of stakeholders, leaders, and the new members of the APC in the area on a familiarisation visit to the state executive committee of the APC in Umuahia, the state capital.

“We came to familiarise ourselves with the state chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, and executive committee members, and we registered our support and loyalty to the APC and President Bola Tinubu,” he said.

“This array of men and women of impeccable character are representatives of the multitude of people who have joined us because of their belief and confidence in the president’s leadership.”

Aruba, who noted that the area had collapsed for the APC “and became 90 per cent APC,” explained that the new members had joined the APC “because they believed in the president’s 8-point agenda and his plans for the South East zone.”

“Ukwa West has seen what the president is doing. Ukwa West has observed that the president has recognised the needs of the state and the zone in general and is dealing with them accordingly.”

He maintained that “if any elections hold today, we’re solidly on the ground to deliver the APC because, as records have shown, we’re not known to renege on a promise.”

In a contribution, one of the stakeholders, High Chief Sylvanus Nwaji, assured of their loyalty to the APC at all levels, noting that they will not rest on their oars until Tinubu is returned to power in 2027.

The one-time executive chairman of the area lauded the committee and Eruba’s contributions to the development and stability of the APC in the state, adding that the APC is intact.

Similarly, Chief Don Ubani, a former information commissioner in Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’s past Peoples Democratic Party administration, said he joined the APC and others believing in Tinubu’s reform agenda.

In response, Ononogbu expressed delight with the APC members’ commitment to implementing its agenda in the state and assured them of his support and cooperation.

He also lauded Elder Uju Nwarie, chairman of the APC in the area, and members of his executive committee for “the huge harvest of new members, which speaks to your dedication and hard work.”

Ononogbu, who added that “there is always a level playing field for all in our party in pursuit of the larger picture,” described Eruba “as one of the members who are solidly behind our leadership”.
