Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has promised to conduct a full-scale investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the crisis that led to the breakdown of law and order and the wanton destruction of properties in Esa-Oke through a Panel of Inquiries.
He made the promise when he paid an assessment and condolence visit to Ido Ayegunle and Esa Oke following the crisis that erupted in the communities on Monday.
The governor, who expressed sadness by the development, repeated that anybody found culpable of either sponsoring the mayhem or participating in the destruction of lives and attacks on the people would be brought to book.
Meanwhile, LEADERSHIP observed that normalcy has returned to the communities as residents went about their daily activities while victims of the crises were left to leak their wounds.
Recall that Esa-Oke in the Obokun local government area of Osun State turned to the theatre of war on Monday following an alleged plan to install a monarch on Ido-Ayegunle.
Addressing the People of Ido Ayegunle, Adeleke assured them that the state government would do everything possible to guarantee their safety and protection.
At Esa-Oke, the governor told them that development could only occur in peace. He said the people must shun any act threatening peace and tranquillity in their domain.
He promised to look into the petition the Esa Oke town submitted, promising that the state government is committed to ensuring peace returns to the warring communities.
In their separate comments, the people of Ido Ayegunle told the governor and his entourage that the people of Esa Oke have consistently attacked them and often prevented them from harvesting their farm products.
