The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing construction of the 30.4-kilometer A2 – Pai and Pai-Gomani road projects in the Kwali area council.
Wike praised the contractors for their high-quality work and expressed confidence in their ability to complete the projects on schedule.

He emphasised that the FCT Administration’s policy is to award contracts based on demonstrated capacity rather than sentimental considerations.

“I am very impressed with the progress on the A2 to Pai section, which Zeberced handles. Their performance shows they can deliver on time, which aligns with our commitment to awarding jobs based on capacity,” Wike stated.

Regarding the Pai to Gomani section, the Minister noted that the contractor had completed approximately 12 kilometres of earthwork and remains on track for timely completion.

He stressed the importance of finishing this phase before the rainy season begins.

“The contractor has made significant progress with about 12 kilometres of earthwork completed on the Pai to Gomani stretch. It is crucial to ensure that this work is finalised before the rains arrive,” he added.
Wike highlighted the project’s positive impact on local agrarian communities, noting that it would greatly benefit farmers in the area.

“These are farming communities, and improvements like this will bring them immense joy and livelihood opportunities,” he explained.

The Minister also commended the cooperation of local leaders, including the Chairman of the Kwali area council, Danladi Chiya, as well as traditional rulers and youth in the area, underscoring the importance of community engagement in ensuring the successful completion of the projects.

“It is essential for the community to take ownership of these projects because they serve their interests,” he remarked.

In addition, Wike announced that numerous projects executed by the FCT Administration would be inaugurated in May to commemorate the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s administration.

“There will be many projects commissioned by May to celebrate the President‘s second anniversary. This is certain,” Wike said.
