The Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, has urged the public to avoid misinformation over the alleged sacking of traditional rulers and focus on maintaining the peace and unity in Adamawa State.

Speaking through Wali Adamawa, Alhaji Aminu Abdulkadir, at the presentation of the Second-Class Staff of Office to the Mbege Ka Michika, Professor Luka Gadiga, yesterday, in Michika, the royal father reaffirmed the Adamawa Emirate’s commitment to collaborate with all newly created chiefdoms and emirates in the state.

He emphasised the need for fairness, peace, and unity in governance.

According to him, the recent social media controversies regarding a statement made by the governor in Madagali are simple and clear.

He clarified that the message was simple and clear.

Wali quoted Governor Fintiri: “All district heads affected by the creation of new emirates and chiefdoms should relinquish their previous titles.”

He urged the public to avoid misinformation and focus on maintaining the peace and unity enjoyed in the state.

In a goodwill message on behalf of Michika elders, Sylvester David thanked Governor Fintiri for addressing the longstanding agitation of various ethnic groups in Adamawa.

He assured the governor of their unwavering allegiance, loyalty, and support in advancing Michika Chiefdom’s economic, social, and political growth.

David called on all Michika indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, to unite and uphold the dignity of their traditional institution.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the chairman of the Central Planning Committee, General Bitrus Kwoji, expressed deep appreciation to the governor for fulfilling their long-held aspirations by granting Michika its own chiefdom. He urged all citizens to work together to ensure the region’s peace, security, and progress.

The grand event also featured the official oath-taking of Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga as the Mbege Ka Michika presided over by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.

The occasion was graced by prominent dignitaries, government officials, and traditional rulers from across the state.
