Recall that the Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule-led State legislature had during its sitting on Monday, gave Governor Siminalayi Fubara a 48-hour ultimatum to present the 2025 budget of the State before it.

But, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in a letter addressed to the Speaker and dated March 5, 2025, said as at the close of work on Tuesday, no official communication had been received by the Governor’s office, the Deputy Governor’s office, or the Accountant-General’s office from the State Assembly.

The letter recalled that the governor had during a statewide broadcast on March 2, 2025, assured that regardless of his personal views, he remains a law-abiding Nigerian and will fully comply with the Supreme Court’s decisions on the State’s political crisis in the best interest of Rivers people.

It disclosed that its legal team was actively awaiting a certified true copy (CTC) of the Supreme Court’s judgment to facilitate its implementation. It reassured Rivers residents that once the judgement was officially received, Governor Fubara would act accordingly and without delay.
