The special assistant to the Governor on mobilisation, Comrade Kingsley Iwok, has empowered 28 indigent residents in Abuja.

The beneficiaries, including the elderly, women, and persons with disabilities, were selected from Akwa Ibom State‘s three senatorial districts and 10 federal constituencies.

Speaking during the empowerment programme held at Akwa Ibom House at the weekend, Comrade Iwok extolled the remarkable legacy of Late Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno, the progenitor of Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), which has transformed countless lives and also lauded Lady Helen Obareki for maintaining and sustaining the legacies of GIFA.

Recalling what inspired his desire to launch the empowerment scheme, he noted that he had received passionate requests from women groups, elders, and vulnerable individuals to replicate and extend GIFA’s programme in Abuja.

Iwok said his trust in divine guidance paved the way for the programme’s triumph. “Today, the rest is history,” he said, attributing the success to God Almighty.

He appreciated the coordinator of the office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki, for her motivation, support and encouragement and Pastor Umo Eno for creating the platform for which the empowerment program happened.

He called on all to support Governor Umo Eno‘s administration and the leadership of the Akwa Ibom community for their support.

Earlier on, the President of the Akwa Ibom community, Barr. Aniefiok Ibah expressed gratitude to the Special Assistant for bringing the Golden Initiative for All pet project to Abuja, acknowledging the Special Assistant‘s effort in making the community feel the programme‘s impact, which aligns with the Arise agenda of the government.

Ibah maintained that the beneficiaries were carefully selected citizens of the Akwa Ibom community, including the sick and the vulnerable, who have been given a sense of belonging through GIFA.
