The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIB) has honoured Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding efforts in infrastructure development of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued in Kano on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.
The award was presented to the governor during the 26th Kano State Executive Council meeting.
The Commissioner for Procurement, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, Nura Ma’aji, acknowledged the governor’s significant contributions to the state’s infrastructural growth which led to the award.
Yusuf also received the “Gender Sensitive Governor” award, commemorating the 2025 Women’s Day.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and the Disabled, Hajiya Amina Sani, highlighted the governor’s empowerment initiatives.
She said the initiatives had positively impacted on the lives of many women, adding that the governor had demonstrated commitment to gender inclusivity in governance.
Responding Yusuf expressed gratitude for the awards and reaffirmed his dedication to implementing policies and programmes that directly benefit the lives of Kano State residents. (NAN)
