A new political movement, Team New Nigeria (TNN) said it has registered over 43 million members and established structures across the 774 local government areas, 37 states (including the FCT), and the six geopolitical zones.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, TNN President Modibbo Yakubun Farakwai, outlined the party’s vision for national renewal, citing economic hardship, governance failures, and youth disillusionment as key drivers of its formation.

Farakwai described TNN as a movement for national rejuvenation aimed at uniting Nigerians and driving fundamental political, social, and economic change.

“It is no longer enough to sit on the sidelines and offer suggestions that are likely to be ignored. We must stand up and take action to prevent our nation from derailing,” Farakwai declared.

He lamented the dwindling middle class, rising economic hardship, and the exodus of young Nigerians due to a lack of opportunities.

He said, “Following extensive consultations with stakeholders, we recognized the urgent need for a broad-based political party that truly represents Nigerians. Our mission is to transform this country into a future free from corruption, anti-democratic values, insecurity, and hopelessness.”

Farakwai revealed that committees had been established to prepare TNN for party registration, and their assignments had been satisfactorily concluded.

“Nigerians want a shift in governance culture. They demand a government that truly works for the people. TNN will not only provide an alternative government but an alternative governance culture rooted in democratic ideals,” he added.

He urged Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration and emphasized the importance of active participation in reshaping the country’s political landscape.
