Police Arrest 2 For Allegedly Killing Okada Rider In Bauchi

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested two suspects for allegedly killing Dauda Manu, a 25-year-old motorcyclist. popularly called Okada rider who was a resident of Unguwar Buba, Fulata Lanzai, in Darazo local government area of the state.

Manu’s body was discovered on March 5, 2025, lying along Dosho Village near Darazo, with multiple injuries.

A statement on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, revealed that before his death, Manu was last seen on March 4, 2025, riding his Boxer brand motorcycle with two unidentified passengers.

“Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the scene and evacuated the body to General Hospital, Darazo, where a medical doctor confirmed his death,” Wakil stated.

As the investigation progressed, on March 20, 2025, police arrested Yau Buba, a 25-year-old from Minchika Village, Darazo LGA, in Gombe State, in possession of the victim’s stolen motorcycle.

Wakil added that during interrogation, Yau Buba confessed that he had purchased the motorcycle from Buba Muhammadu, a 22-year-old from the same village, for ₦250,000.

Muhammadu was subsequently arrested on March 21, 2025.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

“Upon conclusion, the suspects will be charged in court,” PPRO added.

The Bauchi State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
