EFCC Arrests 13 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Akwa Ibom

No fewer than 13 internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).

The spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Dele Ojewale, who disclosed this in Uyo, said the suspects, mostly youths were rounded up at different locations within the metropolis.

“They were arrested in an intelligence-driven sting operation, with seven of the suspects arrested at Campgee Hotel, five arrested along Mission Road, off Ring Road 3, and the other one in another location, all within Uyo, Akwa Ibom State,” Ojewale said.

He added that two exotic cars, five laptops and 14 smartphones were recovered from the suspects.

He assured that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
