Stakeholders from various sectors have come together to address the pressing issue of mental health disparities, recognising the need for collective action to bridge the gap in mental health care.

They stated this at HERbernation 2025, which was launched by Plexus with the theme ‘Rise. Renew. Reignite’ held in Lagos. By working together, stakeholders aim to develop effective solutions to improve mental health outcomes and promote equity in access to care. The event brought together leading women from different walks of life to share their experiences, challenges and triumphs.

Speaking, the principal consultant of Plexus, Ozioma Ubabukoh said that HERbernation is not just an event; it is a safe space where women can pause, reflect and realign with their purpose

He noted that “the theme for the event is a powerful call to action. It reminds us that no matter where we are on our journeys, there is always room to rise beyond our limitations, renew our strength, and reignite the passion that drives us.”

Ubabukoh added that “we live in a fast-paced world where women often juggle multiple roles, meet endless expectations, and sometimes forget to take a moment for themselves.”

Dean of Purple Academy at Wema Bank, Ogechi Eleojo stated that building resilience and capacity is crucial for women to overcome the unique challenges they face in their personal and professional lives.

“Women need to develop strong support networks, cultivate a growth mindset, and prioritise self-care to navigate the complexities of modern life,” she said.

Eleoja added that by doing so, women can enhance their ability to cope with adversity, adapt to changing circumstances, and thrive in their endeavors.

A public relations and marketing, Efe Obiomah called for driving diversity, equity and inclusion across organisations as this will provide a fair playing ground for everyone.

She emphasised the need for policies that promote women’s economic empowerment, education, and healthcare access.

Obiomah advocated for policies that address systemic barriers to create a more level playing field for women, saying that by implementing these policies, societies can unlock the full potential of women and drive sustainable development.
